Hilary Clinton’s Legacy in an Era of Political Upheavel

Hilary Clinton

Friday marked the end of Hilary Clinton’s term as Secretary of State, and the jury is still out on her ranking in history. Although she has worked collaboratively with President Obama to build peace in the Middle East, kill Osama, improve relations in Asia, and collaborate with the United Nations, her tenure has seen violent attacks against the U.S. Most recently, the attack in Libya (which Republicans accuse the Democrats of misrepresenting the facts), and the attack of the U.S. consulate in Turkey. In times such as these, would a Sec. of State that emphasized total compliance with U.S. interests fare better than a skilled negotiator? Somehow I doubt it.
